The City of Ruidoso Downs Human Resources department is responsible for processing personnel and payroll transactions for all City employees. The department processes new hires, promotions, and employee-level changes.

Street Maintenance Worker
The City of Ruidoso Downs is seeking a street maintenance worker to perform a variety of street maintenance and construction tasks. Starting pay is $33,280 - $34,320/yr.. with full benefit package. Knowledge and skills with construction tools, operating backhoes as well as other equipment, preferred. A valid New Mexico Driver’s License is required. Community Service Officer
This position is a combination of Animal Control and Code Enforcement. While patrolling the City, the Community Service Officer observes for unlicensed animals and apprehends the same; and conducts field investigations and property inspections regarding alleged violations of City ordinances. Explains municipal codes, policies, and procedures to the public. Performs other related duties for Animal Control and Code Enforcement. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Starting pay is $38,188.80 - $39,228.80/yr. NM Certified Police Officer
The City of Ruidoso Downs is accepting applications for a NM Certified Police Officer. Pay range is $50,044.80 - $55,244.80 annually. Complete benefits package. Maintenance Tech I
The City of Ruidoso Downs is seeking a Maintenance Tech I to perform a variety of duties including but not limited to the removal and disposal of any un-safe or illegally dumped items along city streets, keeping easements and right of ways clear of trash, weeds, and removing overhanging tree limbs as needed. Starting pay is $14.50/hr. with full benefit package. Knowledge and skills with gas powered equipment such as weed trimmers, mowers, chainsaws, and other small engine equipment, preferred. Assistant Fire Chief
The City of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico is seeking an Assistant Fire Chief. Starting pay is $15.86/hr. with a complete benefit package. Performs a variety of fire suppression and fire prevention functions. Administers first aid and assists in rescue; general maintenance of fire station and grounds; performs annual fire inspections on businesses. Open until filled.
