Welcome to the City of Ruidoso Downs,
New Mexico!

Having retired a few years ago I was enjoying the good life when I heard the call for public service and ran for the office of City Councilor for the City of Ruidoso Downs. During Municipal Elections in March 2008 I was elected to a four-year term. While serving my term I realized there was a need for me to meet the people, ask what their needs were and do my very best to improve their lives and our community. I made the decision to enter my name as a candidate for mayor and was elected on March 6, 2012. I am very excited to have the support of the voters and look forward to a prosperous and progressive future.

Ruidoso Downs is a great city to live in, friendly people, sights galore, shopping, racing, gambling, and entertainment. We have many advantages with the biggest being U.S. Highway 70 as a gateway thoroughfare to attract visitors, new residents, and new businesses. To name just a few attractions from our wonderful community the list begins with world class thoroughbred and quarter horse racing at the Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Billy the Kid Casino, enriching your mind at the Hubbard Museum of the American West, also a Smithsonian Affiliate, Billy the Kid National Scenic Byway Visitor Center, a Senior Center with activities galore and programs such as Meals on Wheels and Home Delivered Meals. Just relaxing under the cool ponderosa and pinon pine trees, you can always find something fun to do in or around the City of Ruidoso Downs.

I really want to work for our residents so if you have ideas, comments, or just want to visit I invite you to come in to City Hall. As well, please join us at the City Council meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month beginning at 5:30.
