I was born in Roswell, New Mexico and have been in this area most of my life. My grandparents moved to Ruidoso Downs in 1948
and my parents also made their home here. My family has been a part of this community for a long time and I attended the local schools.
I left for a period of time in the early 1970's and came back in 1973. I worked for C & L Lumber for 31 years and was there until they
closed the business in 2004.
My wife and I met here. She earned a degree in Horticulture and worked for Conley's Nursery. We have been married for 18 years.
I have one daughter and one son and they have made their way in life very well. My daughter teaches 8th grade reading and my
son is an assistant manager at a Lowe's Grocery Store.
I have served as an Alternate Municipal Judge for 16 years for the City of Ruidoso Downs until recently being elected as City Councilor.
We have many great citizens and visitors that I have met and known through the years.
The progress and growth of Ruidoso Downs coming from a lumber town to what it is today is tremendous. I can remember that the Denton family
had a sawmill where All American Park is now. When I was in high school there was a sawmill behind the Ramada and my dad drove a lumber truck
from here to Artesia. I took to the road with him several times.
I am proud to be able to serve the community and look forward to any comments or ideas and suggestions to make our city a better place for all.
Many thanks to the citizens for giving me the opportunity to serve as part of the Governing Body of Ruidoso Downs.
Thank you for taking the time to view the Official City of Ruidoso Downs web
site.
