The City of Ruidoso Downs will implement Stage II fire restrictions starting at 8 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004. Phase II Restrictions –Updates include prohibition of:

• Campfires, charcoal, coal, wood stoves, citronella candles, etc. anything has that has a flame, (no campfires in developed campgrounds or in dispersed recreation areas);
• Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building;
• Possessing, discharging, or using any kind of firework or other pyrotechnic device;
• Using an explosive;
• Operating a chainsaw or other equipment powered by an internal combustion engine;
• Welding, or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame;
• Possess or use a motor vehicle off Forest System Roads, Federal or State Highways, or County roads within.

We here at the City of Ruidoso Downs apologize for any inconvenience this project will have on our city residents and city commercial customers. We ask that all be patience during the long overdue project.
