The Ruidoso Downs Parks and Recreation Committee is sponsoring the first annual "market in the Park" on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the All American Park in Ruidoso Downs.
Briefly, 10' X 10' spaces will sell for $25.00. Non-Profit organizations such as 4-H, Girl and Boy Scouts, etc. will be donated a space. Public admission to the event will be free. This year's income will be donated to the Ruidoso Downs Skate Park Fund.

To give you an idea as to the flavor of the day, to date we have signed up a Fishing Booth, Duck Pond, Jumping balloon, Arts and Crafts Booth, Retail Store Merchandise, Food, Drink and Fry Bread Booths, and Price's Creameries has donated ice cream bars.

Some of the police personnel have indicated a desire to help with youth projects in our community. If any of you could assist us, we would like to have an activity on our basketball court, ie: Free-Throw Contest, a 3 on 3 Competition, or whatever would encourage young people to be an active participant. Of course, if anyone has another idea (for a non-basketball activity), we would welcome it.
