Burke Lane and Thompson Drive to be reconstructed and paved!

Project will involve the construction and widening of 1200 linear feet of Burke Lane and 800 linear feet of Thompson Drive. Construction will include curb and gutters, 4" asphalt overlay, and proper drainage. The projected cost of the project is $220,000 and will be paid for from funding from local gas tax proceeds and two New Mexico State Highway & Transportation Department Cooperative Grants ($130,000).

Parker Bridge Replacement slated as priority under state Department of Transportation's "GRIP 2" legislative proposal.

The long-awaited replacement of the dangerously narrow Parker Bridge may be close at hand. Governor Richardson and Department of Transportation Secretary Rhonda Faught have proposed a major local roads program to the NM State Legislature for the upcoming 2007 Legislative Session. If this program passes, Parker Bridge is listed as a priority for Lincoln County projects and could see reconstruction as early as winter of 2007.
